| - This office is unbelievable. My 1st appointment was in March. They told me my son needed an MRI, it took 2 months to get the pre-approval (which understandably is the insurance company not the Dr office). We had the MRI done May 11th. After several weeks of not hearing from the office to schedule an appointment to get the results we started calling the office regularly to try to schedule an appointment, only getting voicemail repeatedly and no one calling us back. Over a month passed after the MRI, finally got ahold of someone. They told me they had a cancellation for today, and we had to take it or next available would be August. I took the day off work, because this is my child, getting his results are important to me clearly. I did not bring my son because he does not do well in situations where he has to sit quietly for long periods of time (one reason he is getting the MRI) and I knew from last time it would be at least an hour wait.
My appointment was at 10:15. They called us back at 12:30. After sitting in their waiting room for 2 hours without my child. They told me they could not speak with me because my 5 year old wasn't present. A child who will not understand what they are saying nor can make any decisions about his own care yet. Totally apparent he would need to be there. Didn't mention that on the phone when they scheduled us mind you. The girl then points at the sign in the window stating patient must be present. Sure because I knew that before I drove 45 minutes to be here. She could have mentioned that during the 2 hour lobby wait, even if she did forget to mention it on the phone. Yes i saw the sign but because we were only there for the results, and he is not an adult, i naturally assumed that it would be fine. However I would have been happy to go get him rather than sit and speak with the other patients about how it usually is about 2 hours in the lobby, and about 30-45 minute wait in the back before you will see anyone.
I was able to get them to give me a printout of the results, most of it I don't understand. But I do know there are abnormalities on here he is being diagnosed with that they SHOULD have called me a month ago to schedule an appointment to go over. So on top of not contacting me at all and showing me they clearly do not care about their patients well being, they actually withheld necessary information that I would need to start seeking treatment. DO NOT go here. I am getting a referral for a different neurologist from my son's pediatrician. If you or your child have need of a neurologist, then you definitely want to go somewhere the office cares about their patients. The doctor himself was great the 1 time we saw him, the front office staff needs to be fired and replaced by people who care about their clientele.
