| - A friend recommended Choklat to me and told me they actually make the chocolate. As I love chocolate, I was excited to try it and even more excited when I logged on to groupon one day and they had a buy $20 worth of chocolate for $10. Excited, I bought two coupons. Living in Cochrane, I don't make it into the city very often. I was taking care of business downtown one day and decided to walk to Choklat to use my first coupon. When I arrived the girl at the counter said that they couldn't honour the coupon because it was a blackout date--it was a few days before Father's Day. She pointed to the very small blackout dates on the coupon which I certainly didn't see. Having just lost my father, and in fact that's why I was downtown, sorting out estate business, I was naturally more upset. The girl at the counter said sorry, but there was nothing she could do for me. Upset I left the shop. I knew I had to use my coupons and thought I would try again, but I just wasn't making it into Calgary. On the last day the coupon was available I made a special trip into town to go to Choklat. Due to excessive Stampede traffic I didn't make it to the shop until 2 minutes to six. I was thankful to see the shop "Open" light was still on. I tried to open the door and it was locked. An employee came over motioned that it was closed. I knocked again. She opened the door and said the register had been done for the night and it was too late. So I can't buy anything? I explained that I was there months before and it was the OPEN sign was still on. Nope. No can do. Nothing.
I see that according to their website, they state that, "NEVER ONCE have we had to refund a customer their purchase because they were unhappy with our confections" Perhaps not, but I can tell you you have lost a potential lifetime customer for ZERO customer service.
