I was having the nastiest week. The checkout lady complimented me on my tacky screaming neon pink top and I said I felt like I needed the brightness and I started to tear up. She asked if I needed a pick me up. After a thirty second conversation she rang a bell and an angelic man delivered a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers and roses and gorgeous flowers into my buggy just to be loving. Gestures like this are quite rare I think. There are very few places that see customers as human beings (it seems) and this is what builds loyalty. Twenty plus years ago a department store (N) employee pulled out a box of crayons to squat down play with my fussy toddlers while I finished my selection. I had a big stressful stuffy event coming up . I was super laden that day. That moment ended my shopping at other department stores. My mind ALWAYS whispers "can I get it at N?" Trader Joe's you just won me with one very kind gesture and I have children and grandchildren and friends who will hear this story until they can repeat it over and over. Thank you beautiful lady at the register.
Thanks for seeing me as human.
You're stuck with me now.
