| - I recommitted to a membership last month after taking handfuls of single classes sporadically throughout the year. Moksha is as wonderful a studio as I remembered, if not better. Since my last review, they've upgraded to a barcode check-in, which really streamlines the process in the cozy (see: small) lobby area. It's also still the spotlessly clean, ship-shape, and perfectly heated space as it was before.
Having an unlimited pass this time around also gave me the freedom to try a variety of classes that I hadn't before. Yin classes are an awesome variation of your typical hot yoga class. Heat is reduced, and you use a lot of cool props like blocks, straps, and bolsters to let you get really deep, really restorative stretches. You're not going to get (that) sweaty, but you'll leave the class with amazingly open joints and muscles. When I went, there was actually a good mix of gents to ladies too, so don't shy away if you're a guy because I'd definitely recommend this for recovery from sport or muscle injuries.
My favourite classes are still the traditional Moksha and Moksha Flows. They're a great workout; you'll get drenched and you'll get happy, no matter what sort of day you've had coming in. I can honestly say I've never left a class regretting attending it, or even feeling lackluster, the way some self-guided workouts can end up.
Shoutout to my favourite instructor Elizabeth, her evening classes are always packed for a reason! And as much as I'll be the last person to get all airy-fairy and fanciful, I have to admit that the soothing, spiritual aspect of yoga is so essential to the experience. It's a workout and therapy wrapped up into one. Anyways, I could go on and on extolling my praises for hot yoga, but that's all folks - ya gotta go try it!
