  • I really worry for people to see Dr. Picot. I havent been to his office in a few years, so I'm not mad, I am so disappointed. When I saw him about four years ago, he told me I had three cavities. I was shocked, these being my first cavities and I went ahead and made the appointment to get them filled. When I came back for the fillings, the hygenist asked me when I would like to schedule the OTHER four fillings, on the other side of my mouth. Dr. Picot never even told me about those but of course denied not having that conversation with me, then it became my word against the doctor's. One of the teeth I had filled never felt right, I had to go back twice to get it shaved down so my bite could sit correctly. A few months after the filling, the tooth chipped and i went back and he recommended a porcelain onlay, which I got. Again, I was young and naive, this being my first cavities, and oral surgery experiences and Dr. Picot assured me that my being uncomfortable is normal. What else was I to think? I visited another dentist about a year or so later, and he looked at the cavities on the other side of my mouth and told me they were too small to even do anything with! It makes me wonder if the three I got filled were worth it...or if Picot just wanted my money ($900!!) Over this past weekend, the porcelain onlay broke completely off my tooth. I called my current dentist (on his emergency line on a Saturday morning) and since I am not in pain, an emergency was not necessary, and he made me an appointment first thing Tuesday morning (they are closed on Mondays). Speaking with a friend, she told me there may be a warranty on the onlay, and since it has been less than 5 years (Picot told me during the procedure that my porcelain onlay should last 20 years!), I decided to call Southend Dentistry Monday (today) to see what they can do to help me. When I called, I can hear the receptionists having a personal conversation, asking each other who is leaving when, and after listening for about a minute, I said "Hello?", heard the receptionist gasp at hearing my voice, laugh, and hang up on me. I called back immediately and told the girl that answered that I was just "disconnected" because I interrupted their personal conversation. I told her what my problem was and asked her about any kind of warranty, but the warranty was for a crown, not a porcelain onlay. I am confused as to why he wouldnt take an extra step to protect my tooth fully by doing a crown, why he would just do porcelain, and why none of this was explained to me. I kept asking what this was going to cost for me to get it fixed and i got no definitive answer. Since I was told this onlay would last 20 years but it lasted less than 5, I would assume that any good business owner would want to help their patients, especially when I spent more than $1000. After reading these reviews (which I did AFTER I made the phone call this morning), I am scared to go back to Southend Dentistry. It seems my fears are valid after reading that most everyone else felt ripped off with no good customer service. I trust Picot as far as I can throw him.
