| - DO NOT USE!!!! Poor Customer Service!!! Untrustworthy!!!
I had a completely working fully charged Surface Pro 2 device that had a cracked screen (touchscreen still worked). I took it in to get it repaired as a XMAs present for my son and questioned the cost to repair knowing that I did not want to spend a lot of money as the device is a little older model. I was quoted a price of $130 to repair the cracked screen to which I agreed.
About a week later I received a call from CPR that requested that I pay an additional $80 or so as the technician that quoted me "had made a mistake". Even though I understand mistakes do happen, the new cost would have been much more than the device was worth. I suggested they honor their quote. After much deliberation with them, they agreed.
I received a call again, about a week later to tell me that my repair was completed and I cold pick it up. I was asked to bring in the charger for the device as I was told the device battery was dead. ( I thought this was awkward, as it was fully charged as I stated earlier) I went in to pick up the device, gave them my charger and they plugged it in and after a couple of minutes the device powered on with the charger connected. Not thinking much about it I thought I would be done with this nightmare. When I got home I plugged it in to continue charging the device. After a couple of hours I went to the device and unplugged it. The device automatically shut off and would only turn back on when plugged into the charger.
After plugging it back in, it turned back on and the battery icon on the toolbar had an "X" and indicated that the "battery was not detected".
I returned to the store with my device because as I stated before...it worked fine when I took it there. "Seth" told me he specifically "thought" he remembered plugging the battery back in. He said he unplugged it to so it would "fry the motherboard". Again, after many excuses they reluctantly agreed to "look at it" I left it there. They call me and asked to perform a complete wipe of my computer indicating that would reset the settings they said that would then work. Well, that did not happen. I called back the next day after not hearing from them and they indicated that they "called around" and "everyone" they talked to said that it was nothing they did. What?...They took it apart and had told me he unhooked the battery....The guy "Seth" in the store THEN attempted to tell me he didn't mess with the battery when he fixed the screen...Ok...You remember unhooking it ...to now not touching it!!
Seth told me there was nothing he could do and that I would have to accept it as is. I asked him if he would accept it and he said "No", but that was the best he could do...that it still worked...you just have to "have it plugged in all time". I truly cannot understand this form of customer service. This has truly been a nighmare. What was intended to be a Xmas prsent now turned into me having to explain to my son...You can still use it "if it is plugged in"...to which is stated, "doesn't that defeat the purpose of the tablet?"
So I paid $130 and waited two weeks to get a product back that was worse off than when I took it in...DO NOT USE this place! Poor customer service, outright lying.
