| - Do not come here if you plan on having more than 4 people in a room, because the black-haired lady at the front desk will ruin your night.
My experience here started out positive. The Filipino security guard was friendly. The woman with short gray hair at the front desk allowed my friend that booked a room to bring guests upstairs. The woman was monitoring us on the cameras and giving some of us the evil eye when we'd walk out to have a cigarette and come back in. There were around 10 of us so I understand why she would be concerned about our presence. At least she noticed that we were being quiet and respectful, and didn't kick us out.
The room is nice with its trendy design, but it's smaller than all the regular sized rooms I've been to at other hotels. The name "Cabana Suites" is a lie. Their windows aren't even real. There are wooden shutters on the wall, covering what are supposed to be two windows, but when you open the shutters, it's just pieces of glass that you can't see through. This is the only hotel I've ever been to where you can't even look outside.
Later that night, the employee shifts changed, an old heavyset woman with short dyed black curly hair started working at the front desk, and all hell broke loose. The gray-haired woman informed the black-haired woman that my friend had guests in his room, and the black-haired woman started freaking out and checking the cameras.
I went back to the room to let my friends know that we're being monitored. Then I went downstairs for another cigarette, and the black-haired woman stopped me and questioned me about how many guests there were in the room and said that it's a fire hazard and that people have to leave. I saw 4 fire sprinklers in the room, and no one was smoking in there, so that's when I realized she was trippin'.
I went outside to smoke. There were 2 different security guards. I told them how the black-haired woman was trippin', and they agreed with me. Even the employees don't like her. One of the security guards told me that she had another security guard transferred away from Cabana Suites because he would get candy from the candy jar with his hand instead of with the serving spoon.
While I was smoking outside, the black-haired woman had 2 security guards from El Cortez across the street go to my friend's room to give them a warning or something. Then she had those security guards go up a 2nd time to kick out some guests. Then I tried going to the room and she stopped me with a very rude tone. Eventually I was allowed back up. Then she had those security guards come up a 3rd time, claiming we set off the smoke detector, and they gave us another warning. The security guards were cool with us, but the black-haired woman took her job so seriously, and was so determined to sabotage our gathering, that she had security come up a 4th time, this time with the security supervisor (who looked like the black-haired woman's twin sister), to kick all the guests out. I wanted to wait in the lobby for my friends to come downstairs but the black-haired witch told me to get out. I guess she just doesn't like young people. Maybe she's so bitter because she's old and probably lost her husband or something, but that doesn't mean she should take it out on innocent guests.
