  • Ok - so this bakery just opened and we heard about, being kinda in the neighborhood, and we went to go check it out. I tell you what, the North Hills needed a bakery like this, and if they keep their prices anywhere as good as they are now, I will be back on the regular. Staff/owner - so friendly. They're just getting on their feet as a business, but hey - supporting small business is what it's all about (that, or delicious baked goods). So, there was definitely a little chaos, but they didn't let it show in their attitude. When my fiancé and I walked in, we were greeted warmly and they happily explained the goods they had in their cases. As a couple, our dessert tastes tend to be opposites, so, I will state first that the fiancé bought the chocolate cupcakes, took them home, and had one this morning for breakfast. He reported that the cupcake was chocolatey and perfect, but that the real winner was the frosting, which was not too sweet, had good chocolate flavor, and good texture. He also loves those little mystery cookies that are like pizelles with chocolate cream inside. Being a fruit person, I got the orange cookies and pumpkin muffins. If you don't want your baked goods to taste like their flavors - stay away! I loved it. The orange cookies had a bright, citrusy flavor that paired well with their soft texture, and their creamy, but still orangey frosting. The pumpkin muffins were ultra-moist and lusciously packed with pumpkin. Like - the insides were orange and not from food coloring, but from actual pumpkin. I also got some sourdough hand-made English muffins, and had one for breakfast. It was awesome! Definitely a rare treat compared to my usual pre-sliced toast. Finally, they wouldn't let us leave without some sugar cookies (which they wanted us to sample). Fiancé said the one with sprinkles was the best sugar cookie he'd ever had, and I thoroughly enjoyed an almond sugar cookie that was apparently an experiment! It was really good! Once again, tons of flavor. Best things - orange cookie/chocolate cupcake. They also had tons of tea, as well as traditional, drip pot coffee, but it was like 6pm when we went so I was not going to have any. Essentially, the stuff tastes better than anything you're gonna get at a big store, the prices are competitive, and they have really unique but still wholesome and simple baked goods that you won't find anywhere else, and service is rad. Stop on in and give them a try!
