| - As another reviewer said, this place is now called "Lionesse", but everything else in the prior reviews here and elsewhere seem to say the same thing: it's a huge scam.
The staff are EXTREMELY pushy and manipulative.
They will hand you a 'free sample' as you walk by, and then lure you in and fire every trick in the book at you to make you buy their madly expensive products. They will compliment you one moment, and then put a mirror in front of your face and list your 'flaws' in the next, in a tone as if they're very concerned for you. They seem to pull the prices out of absolutely nowhere, changing them "just for you", and make up sudden 'sales' that may end at any moment. If you hint politely that you're not sure you can afford what they're pushing, they will belittle and lecture you about not caring about your skin and the problems they so generously pointed out with your face.
The guy who was bothering me eventually, out of the blue, just told me he was so glad that I had decided I was interested and said he was going to get me a receipt for my purchase right now so that I could get a discount next time as well. That was when I realized he was basically telling me I was buying it (I had said nothing of the sort), and was backing me into a corner where I could only get out of paying by seeming to 'make it awkward' or seeming to go back on something I had already agreed to (even though I hadn't). I felt like I was dealing with a borderline-abusive pick-up artist in a swanky bar, or being weirdly passive-aggressively mugged.
I told him I didn't have my wallet on me (a good idea, actually, if you end up in this situation! Leave your wallet at home if you walk down Cumberland st, guys!). He said he would talk to his manager (why??), and then came back and told me he would sell the product to me at half price. I repeated, once again, that that was really sweet but again, I didn't have my wallet.
All of a sudden his face just completely changed. The smile was disappeared, the friendly attitude vanished, and he just stared at me. It was actually a genuinely frightening experience, having someone look so angry at you so suddenly. Like I had had the gall to waste his time, even though I had been trying to find a way to get away the whole time he had been bullying me.
Finally he answered, in a really cold, angry tone, "Well I hope you make the right decision about the future of your skin." Then he just glared at me like I was disgusting, as I managed a quick '...Okay, well, have a good day!' and walked out as quickly as I could.
Steer a wide berth. This place is truly awful.
