  • First off, two warnings. Do not visit this place if you are on a diet. Seriously, you will gain 3 pounds before you get back to your car. No amount of good intention will save you. And do not expect to enjoy this amazing BBQ restaurant if you are a strict vegetarian. I mean, whut fer? I read a few "reviews" for Bobby Q that made me wonder why the writers chose a very well known down-home style BBQ emporium, and then expected that the experience would mimic a Chez Souci foo-foo eatery. Huh? Whatever! First off, make a reservation before arriving! Everybody in Central AZ knows this awesome joint, so you will not be lonely. Or, if you enjoy having a few drinks before dinner just show up, leave your name at the desk, and taxi on over to the Adult Beverage area. Lots of fun folks to talk to while waiting, so its painless. They serve appetizers at the bar, if you need a head start. Crazy crowded it was - a tour bus with 49 people pulled up as we arrived. Even so, we were seated at a table within 40 minutes. Another warning: If you are having a main course dinner, remember that the hot chow rockets out of their kitchen in 5 minutes flat (being a rotisserie and pit BBQ place, most of it is ready and waitin'). The servers are all super friendly and most efficient. The warm corn bread and butter hits your table immediately. What's waitin', you ask? Well just about anything you ever saw Barbecued, that's what. Incredible slabs of ribs. Fantastic pulled pork. Amazing brisket. Chicken like you wish Mom could have made. Corn served country style (you'll see what I mean). The huge stack of food (for any meal ordered) will blow your mind and stretch your belt. Even if you arrived hungry as a bear, you can expect to walk out with a plate of leftovers (and house-made corn bread). Believe me on that. Yep - you will get messy (they provide wet naps) and will have to deal with some degree of consumption guilt on the ride home. BUT ITS WORTH IT!
