My friend and I wanted to do something different while in Vegas and to get out of the casino for a while so we took a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon.
We were picked up at our hotel by Mike and he was very friendly and on time. There was another group on the bus with us from the hotel-a family of four-2 parents and two kids. When they got on the bus Mike began discussing with the dad that he needed to pay for the tour when we got to the terminal. Dad was under the impression he had paid. I thought it a bit tacky that Mike discussed their payment out loud in front of me & my friend. That should have been handled in a private conversation.
Everything went well at the terminal and we met our pilot-Jesse. I can't say enough good things about Jesse. Super nice guy, very personable, great pilot. He went over all the safety features and rules and shortly thereafter we were off to the Grand Canyon. Along the way Jesse pointed out all the sights and had great music playing. We landed in the Canyon for champagne and snacks and we were off again for the return flight. One quick stop for gas and we were back in Vegas flying over the strip. Jesse was awesome the entire trip
Overall a great 5 star experience so why only 4 stars? First, Mike...don't discuss customers payments in front of other customers. Second, it was about 112 yesterday here in Vegas and the AC in the helicopter just could not keep up with that heat. It was very hot in the helicopter. I don't think that is Jesse's fault, or even Maverick's-I think that those helicopters AC just aren't made to handle 112 degrees and 8 people on board. I would definitely take the tour again, but maybe not at the end of June-or any hot summer Vegas month
