What an amazing stop!
We love historical tours and sites and make it a point to visit every presidential library, historic site and birthplace we can when near one on a road trip. We headed to Mentor for the National Historic Site tour of Garfield's estate and the next day visited his tomb here. It's unlike any such place I've ever seen--beautiful and unique. Huge marble statue of Garfield surrounded by intricate architechture and stained glass, he and his family entombed on the lowest level and a great view of the entire city from the top level.
If you're in Cleveland I highly recommend the stop--and if you know nothing of Garfield I highly recommend "Destiny of the Republic", a very readable account of his life, murder, potential and brief presidency.
