I would go to Copps all the time because they have more "specialty items" for folks that like to cook. Nothing too fancy, but you could get everything you needed there if you wanted to make something Japanese, or you could get a large block of chocolate if you wanted to make a pastry.
It WAS the place to go if you liked to cook. They had much more raw ingredients than the other places nearby like Hyvee.
This review is to express my disappointment at their recent change. They just went through a weeks long effort to remake the store, and they changed their inventory. Their selection, which was really the distinguishing thing for me, has taken a nosedive. They devoted all that aisle space to dumb stuff like greeting cards.
Also, I've been told that their specials are now available only to rewards card holders.
It's like they decided to cut all of the lowest selling stuff. Good for them, but bad for us. Now if I want to cook, I have to go very far to Whole foods or Willy Street Coop and pay more. There's another Copps not far away on McKee, maybe they haven't sold out yet...
