  • Just got home from a show with Ralphie May. Good thing I love him and he's hilarious because the Improv is AWFUL. Here's the evening run down... To get a decent seat you have to show up 2 hours before the show starts and are forced to purchase 2 items from their sub-standard menu. When you arrive at the venue, you will not be picking your seat. The 19 year old punk at the front will decide where he wants to put you after he's saved the centered, up front seats for all of his friends. Our chosen table was a round table, pushed up against 2 other tables that already had people sitting at them. They have little bunches of 2-3 round tables smashed together where in you are forced to sit with strangers. This is why I got to sit DIRECTLY behind someone without the benefit of slope for a better view. My neck still hurts from craning to see around him the entire show. I also had the pleasure of having my knees smashed into my friend's knees, had multiple people bump into me, my chair and my table and had the pleasure of having our idiot waitress's ass in my face whenever she was helping the people at the table next to us. You then have the pleasure of choosing your 2 required items. There's nothing quite like $9 cheesecake or $14 nachos. Thankfully I don't drink because the alcohol prices were even more ridiculous. My $3 soda arrived in a tiny glass, loaded with ice and no, refills are not free. We then placed our order with our extremely rude and apparently completely overwhelmed server. 1 hour (yes, 1 hour) later, our cold and disgusting food arrived. The room is so overfull with people and so poorly laid out that the servers are all over the place and completely unavailable at all times. Finally the show began and I figured the annoying crap would be over and I could enjoy the show. Not so! The waitress who could never be found when it came to service, was promptly at our table to work out the bill DURING THE SHOW. Five different times DURING the show she was at our table, talking to us about the bill, did we need change, can you hand me that plate, do you want another drink, etc etc etc. I finally had to tell her that I paid $30 to see Ralphie May...not help her clear a dinner table. If you enjoy being stuffed into a tiny room with way to many people, a very long wait, bowling alley food that costs a bundle, watered down drinks, crappy servers and having your experience interupted through out the show- the I suppose the Improv is for you. I only wish there was a manager I could have spoken too. I never do reviews on things but I felt I had to after such a crappy experience there. My only hope is that Ralphie May can gain the audience to move into a better venue so I never again have to go to this crap hole. Steer clear if you can.
