| - Sometimes I just like getting out and doing things so checking this festival out was a product of that urge. Standard ticket pricing is $12+ per person, and that gets you in the door, free parking, and I guess some live music and porta-potties.
After that, all the other vendors charge steep prices individually.
Now the food at most all the trucks we tried was really good. Exactly the tasty things we expected. However, what really drove me crazy is how overpriced and oddly portioned everything was. Expect to shell out an average of $4-$12 per item. And $8 grilled cheese. a $4 chicken skewer or 2 pieces of calamari. $10 po'boy. $6 for a rootbeer float.
I don't know if these are the standard pricing for food trucks, but it seems insane. The portions felt incredibly small, which made sense cause I wanted to try many different places. But I guess I imagined the prices would reflect that. Granted, some places had "sample" items/sizes on the menu, but i wasn't about to wait in a line to pay $2 for a single piece of calamari or $6 for a single slice of pizza.
If you don't mind spending the cash, go for it, it's kinda neat and super tasty. If you don't want to bleed money to experience what you already paid to get in the door for, this one isn't for you. Oh, and go early. The place is a zoo after like 1-2pm.
