I used to go regularly to catch their karaoke show and it was great for a long time. Then slowly it stated to get over-run with a much older crowd. Like, it almost felt like a senior center was loading up a bus and bringing it in. Seriously, I think they may have been telling them it was an AARP meeting. hahahah... It was weird! So I found another place to patronize for karaoke. At a later date, I went back to see if things had improved. As I like the location, it is smoke free, and the staff was always pretty good. But, Shakespeare's has apparently burnt ties with some of the better karaoke brands in town and at this point they use some horrible karaoke service by the name of 'Kool Katz'. (OMG!) In short it's like three middle aged men hosting karaoke: that have the social skills and social depth of teen boys. They run the karaoke queue by putting themselves and their friend through the queue faster. They obviously need the power trip of being in charge of something, so karaoke does it for them. Not to mention they aren't very skilled with the audio engineering portions of the job so it doesn't sound very good compared to many of the other karaoke brands in town. I won't be back for karaoke there until I am sure they find a better option.
