| - I stayed here last summer when I was in Vegas. The rooms are pretty standard. We opted not to spend the extra for the Go Rooms, which I heard are pretty sweet.
We did have a problem because we requested a non-smoking room, which was got, but it still REEKED of cigarettes. I cannot stand the smell of smoke, and I am used to a city where smoking is banned pretty much everywhere (thank you Bloomberg). We went downstairs and asked for another room, which they gave us, but basically said that they cannot keep people from smoking in the non-smoking rooms, so there is a chance they may all smell like that. Wonderful. Luckily, the room smelled pretty clean.
Had no problem with the cleanliness overall. It is not a new hotel, which I knew, so I thought it was pretty good.
The over 21 pool is great, and I was surprised that there were a lot more people my age than I had been told going in. The all-ages pool, while great, is in the shade most of the day, so that kinda stunk if you wanted to lay out.
Restaurants are ehh. I don't really mind going elsewhere to eat though. I don't gamble, so can't say much in the way of that.
The best thing about the hotel is by far the location. Center strip. I don't think any hotel has a better location than the Flamingo. We walked everywhere.
Random side note, we came in from the pool one day and there was music playing in the lobby...a lot of the staff was dancing in the lobby to the Cha Cha Slide and a few other dances they may have made up. It was pretty funny/entertaining.
Actually going back to Vegas this year and we were planning on staying here again, but I got a deal through work at the Mirage, so staying there mostly because there are more people my age and everyone we met last year was staying at the Mirage. Otherwise, not a bad deal and a lot cheaper than the newer hotels.
