  • I have not been to the store or purchased Alpine bread for several years. Once the kids moved out we did not really use much bread. But I decided to stop buy the Mesa outlet store last week at the newer location. I was so shocked to see the smaller loaves of bread and no other products other than buns. I had always remembered the prior heavy loaves that made a hearty piece of toast. They also used to make cakes cookies, etc. The loaves being produced today and lightweight and even 'airy', not like before. When you ate one slice of the older type bread it was filling. The newer loaves are not as filling and I do not believe it is because of the thickness of the slices either. It is still a OK taste at a great price. Just not worth the drive for me anymore.
