| - I am new to the area and decided to go here b/c of location. I've driven by once before having my appt there and I couldn't tell what kind of salon it was from outside b/c the windows were all covered up with designs...not a problem but that made me hesitant to make an appt there earlier b/c I wasn't sure what age group they catered to. I prefer working with stylists around my age because I figured they'd get the younger styles I'm looking for.
Anyway, the inside is very nice: clean, modern, happy. Parking lot and entrance is in the back. I tried going through the front door and it was locked but they opened it once they saw I was there.
My stylist was Nassar and he was excellent. Very skilled and knowlegeable about "hair flow and movement" which was cool. He's not a big chit chatter which I actually prefer because I hate shouting over the hair dryer, etc.
When I requested a certain style he explained why he won't be able to cut the back of my hair as short as I wanted b/c of the way my hairline was...it would have caused it to curl up and not lay the way I envisioned. I'm happy he was forthcoming and honest with me. I only wanted it that short if it actually came out right! He made the cut very easy to take care of -- basically just air dry in the morning. I appreciated that they didn't charge extra or simply incorporated the hair washing into the quoted hair cut costs.
Most importantly, my haircut stayed looking great even AFTER my appt. Most of the time, the stylist does a great job that day but I can never recreate that magic.
Another small but helpful thing the salon does is they have you wear two smocks and that was such a good idea. It was the first time I ever left a salon without hair bits all over.
I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend Nassar. BTW, I did see the other stylists there and they're all very nice, friendly, and the lady next to me loved her cut (it was her first time there as well, she was mid-50s).
