| - If I could give ZERO stars to this practice I WOULD!
In all fairness, I never had any work done with the Dr. Geoghegan...truthfully after the way I was handled by Chelise and speaking with the Dr. it is a real blessing.
The situation is this...I had plastic surgery done two years ago that went very bad....I started a support group for many of the patients that also went to the same Dr. and they also had devastating results.
However, one of the gals from the support group spoke very highly of Oasis Plastic Surgery and Dr. Geoghegan and said after 8 surgeries with Dr.Geoghegan she was "fixed" and after doing some checking, I made an appointment to see her....
in the meantime, I referred several people from the group to her.
After waiting two months to see her, a day before my appointment it was canceled, I was told she had an emergency, which happens and I totally understood and said I am looking so forward to meeting her as I have referred many patients to her and my gyn Dr said she's the one that will be able to fix me.
I was blown away when I was told she isnt seeing anymore of this Dr.'s patients as it was too stressful and because I had filed a medical board complaint, she was not seeing anyone that had done that either.
Imagine my disappointment and frustration, after referring many patients to her, waiting two months to see her and then being told she's not seeing any of these Dr.'s patients.
I called back in tears, saying I am not suing the Dr. I was merely trying to help other women and I should be able to file a board complaint especially when I was harmed the way I was and was told by several Dr.'s I am not fixable. (She was my one hope in town to fix me)
I was told by Chelise you are right, I am so sorry and I will get back to you as soon as I talk to Dr. Geoghegan. Almost a whole month went by, she never returned my call as promised.
I called again and asked what the status was, I was put on hold for 10 minutes and someone else picked the phone up and I was informed she isnt doing any revisions and wouldn't see me. I informed her I was very disappointed the way I was handled and the least the Dr. could have done was to call me and explain or to see me as a courtesy, I explained that I was hurt, sad, disappointed and the way I was handled was so unprofessional.
I explained that I intended to let others know and was going to post a review, all of a sudden the Dr. immediately had time to speak with me.
Dr. Geoghegan explained she wasn't doing any revisions of this Dr and wouldn't see any other patients of his and I said, put yourself in my place, how would you feel waiting two months to see someone, referring many patients and then told sorry I cant see you?
For me it is all about treating people the way you want to be treated, and even if she is the best surgeon in the world, she and her staff have NO consideration for peoples feelings.
Take it from one who had a devastating outcome...just because a surgeon may be the greatest Dr in the world if they cant respect and treat their potential patients the way they want to be treated...they aren't worth going to see.
Because once the surgery is done, one needs to return on a regular basis for follow ups and if this is the way you are treated before surgery, it may be the same after as well.
If she would have taken five minutes out of her schedule to say although I am not seeing anymore of this Dr.'s patients, and not doing revisions, because you waited two months to see me and I canceled at the last minute I will see you because that was BEFORE i made the decision that I did, I would have had so much MORE respect for her not only as a Dr. but as a person as well.
What I have learned is the medical profession in general are NO DIFFERENT then you and I they only went to school a bit longer, we need to stop putting them up on a pedestal, they are human and make mistakes just as anyone else does....this surgeon and her office are proof of that.
