  • I'm pregnant and chose this practice based on two factors: they take Highmark insurance; and many of the doctors have high ratings either on Yelp or on "review your doctor" sites (e.g., 5 Yelp stars for Ganya Alvarado-Reagans, 4.8 on HealthGrades for Kristina Bishop). I have been completely disappointed so far! They keep messing up with scheduling and other administrative things, and at the majority of my appointments, they've just put me with the nurse practitioner rather than any of the doctors. As an example of the administrative screw-ups: altogether, I had three follow-up items from my first visit: blood tests, an ultrasound, and the first trimester testing. Each of these was to take place in a different lab/clinic/whatever. At each place, I encountered some problem with the information I received from Seasons OB. Either they had given me incorrect instructions, or the phone number I needed to call was wrong, or something. When I apologized ("Sorry! I was just following instructions from my OB's office!") the clinic person would sigh and go, "Yeah, I don't know why they keep giving people the wrong instructions." When I went in for my second appointment, the receptionist informed me that I did NOT actually have an appointment that day, and that my appointment was on the following Friday. Now, I happen to be unavailable any and every Friday due to my work schedule, so I know that I never scheduled that. But the receptionist was just like, "Well, you can't see anybody today." Okay, I actually used to work the front desk at a dentist's office, I know that stuff happens, but if I had been in the receptionist's position, I WOULD HAVE APOLOGIZED for messing up a patient's day! Instead, she did that thing where somebody screws up and then they start getting mad at you. Like they're doubling down. Seriously, when I told her that I wouldn't be able to make the Friday appointment -- that somebody there invented for me -- she sighed and went, "Well when CAN you make it?" A similar thing happened a few months later, when they told me to schedule an appointment with Radiology. I get there . . . and the Radiology front desk is like, "I don't know why they told you to come here, we don't do [that particular scan]." I wish I would have spoken up more at the time when both mix-ups occurred, but I never manage to have hostile reactions in the moment. But it is frustrating because not only did I end up uselessly taking time off work, but what with shaving my legs, driving there and back, and finding parking in the under-construction garage, it takes over an hour out of my day for no reason. Oh, and I had to pay $3 for parking each time. }:/ The other big issue is getting to actually see a doctor. When I booked my first appointment, I was told that they have patients rotate through the five doctors on staff so that you get to know everyone before you deliver. Well, out of my seven appointments so far, I've seen only the nurse practitioner FOUR TIMES. As in, I'm six months pregnant and have only met three of the doctors. If I wanted an NP totally supervising my medical care, I wouldn't have signed up with a practice with five OBs!
