But of course this is the best Asian market in the Pittsburgh area, and the most out of the way. This market combines my favorite aspects of the 3 more convenient to me in the Strip District.
The produce selection is topnotch--super varied, well-labeled, and so cheap that it almost makes me want to forget about the farmers markets in our fair city. There is also a great selection of shelf stable items (sauces and the like), as well as frozen items (dumplings galore, YUM).
But best of all, there is fresh seafood and meat counter in the back and SOMEONE TO SERVICE YOUR ORDER. You mean, I can buy super cheap fresh fish and have it cleaned and cut into pieces for me? This service is a cut above the rest in Pittsburgh. I have died and arrived in Asian grocery heaven. If only they would pick it up and move it to Oakland/Shadyside, I would probably never shop anywhere else. *Hint, hint.*
