I read that the pumps emit green water for St. Patrick's Day but I was here during the Summer. My friends and I were the only ones around the lake when we visited over a weekend. This almost 40 year old hourly fountain is located in the middle of a lake filled with water from a treatment system. The mist was refreshing in the heat but I wish I knew that beforehand. It was once the tallest in the world but the Guinness Book doesn't recognize that category anymore.
Maybe they need to force the water out at a faster speed. The attraction would be more picturesque if it spiraled down instead of just making a narrow parabola. This is only worth watching if you're tired of Scottsdale or if they start to illuminate it for the evenings. Unlike the Jet d'Eau in Geneva, I did not see the 330-560' column of water when I was miles away. You just don't get a sense of (mechanical) power from the experience.
