| - I've had the great fortune of never going through the ordeals of a "greasy" used car dealer. I recently moved to Madison and am a savvy, skeptical customer with no interest in purchasing a car, and I am prey for Russ Darrow.
I received a "scratch and win" in the mail that looked aboveboard if not for the vagaries of the invitation codes and event hotline. Money, I have yet to experience but am finding, makes people do strange things, and an offer of 25k in cash looks very good after another day of not finding grad school funding. But it only takes minutes on Google to read the reports of RD's previous scams and confidence tricks, and after reading a recent "complaintsboard" posting where someone explains a similar situation: the hotline's directions to get his foot in the door, the confirmation as a "grand prize" winner without any further possible elaboration over the phone. He ended up leaving with two dollars and a lottery ticket. It'll be a new trick next time, but it's the same scheme.
I write Yelp reviews because I value my time and our mutual time together, and I'll gladly pay the complaintsboard reviewer's time and gas wasted forward. Please do not financially support any organization, Russ Darrow or otherwise, that practices this brand of unjust and inconsiderate business. This is not the Midwestern hospitality I expected.
