| - **Information from one of the first residents on the property**
I moved in back in May and I was beyond excited to call this place home. Fast forward to 5 months later, and I cannot wait to leave. There is so much that isn't going right with this community that it's hard to determine where to start.
1) If you are looking forward to the fact this this is a non-smoking community, don't be. I have witnessed numerous residents smoke, and have either asked them to leave the property to smoke, or reported them to the office. There is even someone associated to the property owner that smokes in front of their apartment and in the dog park. I don't know if anyone has been issued a warning, but if they were, it must not have been very stern, because they continue to smoke.
2) The security guards don't do much to keep this property safe. There is one in particular that I speak with almost nightly, and he walks the property and does his job the way it should be done, but he only works 4 days a week. The remaining days, I mostly see the security guard parked in front of the tv in the clubhouse, unaware of what's going on around them.
3) Many dog owners living on the property are completely irresponsible. This is a very dog friendly community, so many households here have at least one dog. I would imagine that with Poo Prints registration being required, there would be a lot more people picking up their dog's waste, but that doesn't happen. All too often, I walk into the dog park to find piles of waste laying all throughout the park, some even smushed into the grass after some unfortunate resident accidentally stepped in it.
4) Valet waste is so very convenient for the residents, and is one thing I do enjoy. If you read your Welcome packet, you will note that trashcans are only to be placed outside for trash pickup after 6PM, and brought back in to your home by 9AM. Trash and trashcans are not to be sitting outside all day. Well, this is another rule that is not at all followed. Several residents have decided that their trash can is a permanent decoration that sits outside their front door at all hours of the day. They will place numerous bags of trash in or around the can throughout the day, allowing it to stink up hallways, and sometimes even allowing disgusting liquids from their bags to leak out onto the walkway. I have also sent pictures and emails to the office, with no resolution to the issue.
There is still more that I could write, but I'm sure you get the picture. I would not feel the necessity to leave this review if management was actually making an effort to resolve any issues. They have been unresponsive to numerous emails sent by myself and other residents. In addition, they chose to remove the reviews left by unhappy residents from their Facebook page, which I find to be rather alarming. You will be sold on the elevated lifestyle of Elysian when you tour, but don't be fooled by the facade. It's great before you move in, and then rapidly goes down hill from there.
