Rocky's Haus of Sausage is exactly what the name suggests, they specialize in sausages. I had a groupon and it was a great way to select a variety of sausages for the BBQ. They make all their sausages in-house. I had a long chat with "Rocky". I don't think that's his original name but he definitely has a passion for what he is doing. I was unfamiliar with the different types of sausages but walking in the 1st thing that catches your eye is the row upon row of pairs of sausages hanging on racks behind the refrigerated counter. They are made and smoked in the back and I was told you eat them like pepperoni sticks. The display unit were filled with packs of weisswurst (white sausage made from veal/pork), european wieners, spicy polish sausage and kreimer sausage (like a Kie?basa but denser). I've tried all the ones mention and they are all good. They are not however organic and nitrite-free. All the sausages are ready to eat and only need to be warmed up on the BBQ. If you want to find out how sausages are made this is the place to go. They also make their own head cheese here and I was treated to a taste and the ingredients Rocky was experimenting with and what he liked or didn't like about the taste outcome and what he would do differently. Parking is right outside the door but not during rush hours as it's right off Edmonton Trail/4th St. It starts out as Edmonton Trail in the North and becomes 4th street as you go down the hill towards Memorial Dr. There are also some typical deli items like European teas, mustards, syrups. It's a small place and they also offer steaks and other cuts. It's a butcher shop/sausage shop. Service is personable and friendly.
