  • Don't know if it is true, but someone has told me this is the first Wimpy's in Toronto. The decor is an adorable 60's and 70's feel, including the booths. I ordered a Striploin Steak dinner because I felt like having a cheap steak. In other words, quality was not my number one concern. The steak meat was okay, diner style. As expected, medium rare became medium well. The home fries were good not great. This local gem has average steak for a diner (below average for a steakshouse of course) but exceptional services. I was served by 2 waitresses. Both were diner-style friendly and talked to me like I were a regular (I am not). They took my order while I waited for a table, so I could sip on an ice tea while I waited. I was never rushed out even though there was a line waiting for tables. I am going to give 3 stars for cheap steak plus an extra 0.5 star for services. Since I am sure this will be a 4-starred joint for all day breakfast, I boldly go 4 stars anyway.
