| - My daughter and I both went to this location for the first time because we live 10 min away and it's a big facility with multiple locations. The dentist i had was very knowledgeable and kind. I felt really at ease which is not easy for me.
However, when i took my 3yr old for a routine check-up. She had a miserable time and this wasn't her first time at the dentist either. We moved here from Seattle and going to dentist was never a big issue. I understand toddler's behaviors are very unpredictable, but her dentist in the PARMA office didn't even bother to talk to her or make her comfortable. The scary part is that, she was suppose to be an experienced pediatric dentist, she seem annoyed and just told me to hold her arms down while she forced fluoride in her mouth. The whole process took less than 15 minutes ( we were in the waiting room longer that!!) and recommended me to take her to the North Olmsted for a SEDATION procedure for a cavity. I didn't know what to do, so i wanted to take her to the other location to get a second opinion.
After that experience in the Parma office , my daughter was so scared to see the North Olmsted dentist. she acted up (super rare for her ,trust me! she didn't even want to get in the car!) However, the dentist we had was nicer, sympathetic, and took the extra time to get to know us. She was crying and screaming but it didn't affect his work or his attitude towards the situation. He told us, he would NOT RECOMMEND SEDATION on such a small cavity and that if we can work together and make her feel safe and he can fix it within a couple minutes. She wouldn't have to go through life or DEATH complications sedation can have on young children. He was very knowledgeable and i trust him. So when the time came i brought her in, i let her bring her a toy and watch a short cartoon about going to the dentist. She sat through the experience very well, she only cried once towards the end. She was sitting through all this without any anesthetic, BUT she walked out of there smiling and was willing to come back. This location is 30 minutes away, that little inconvenience was nothing if it means my child was in good hands.
I don't care what the excuse is for the way that Parma pediatric dentist acted, whether she had a bad day or not, she was not professional and doesn't deserve to work on kids. Going to dentist is not a fun thing for anyone, don't make it worst. Even, the receptionist there sounded annoyed by their patients... Although, i like their North Olmsted office better, I am still looking for a better place because obviously their company lack moral and is not training their employees right. SAD~
