The barn is still being renovated, so everything's outside. But it was still a great time.
My friend and I arrived at 7:45pm on a Friday night, and parking was a mess. The actual parking lot is a dirt pit of sorts that was entirely filled, so it's best to just go down the road and park on the street.
They check your ID right at the entrance and give you a wristband for drinks.
It was my first rodeo show, so I was quite excited. I wore the wrong things however. Everyone had on their flannel shirts and jeans and belts with shiny buckles and cowboy boots and hats. Literally, everyone.
It's best to sit in the front seats of the ring to get the best pictures of the riders and bulls. And even if you don't purchase food or drinks, you can totally just watch the show for free. There were three rounds, but we only stayed for the first two. The first one was great bc after the cowboys ride the bulls, about 17 kids come out and ride sheep. It's so adorable.
My only complaint is that when you order and put your name in, you name is called on the speaker once your food is ready and it can be distracting during the show.
I also don't recommend getting the s'mores bc the graham crackers were soggy/stale and for $6 it's a rip-off.
The live band in between bull riding rounds is awesome. You can dance in front. There are a couple booths selling cowboy hats and boots and such.
I would totally go again and bring friends and children and whoever.
