We wanted Lappert's but decided to have dinner first since they're across from each other. They have all of the typical Hawaiian fare.
We ordered the Aloha Combo - Bento, spam musubi, saimin, a side of mac salad, and a side of kimchi.
The Bento Aloha Combo came with furikake rice, grilled teri chicken and beef, a piece of spam, and pickled ginger and radish. The teri chicken was a boneless thigh with the skin on. The skin was nice and crispy and the meat was super juicy. The teri beef was juicy with just a bit of fat left on for flavor. The teri sauce was a nice balance of sweet and salty.
Spam musubi was ok but could've used a slightly thicker slice of spam.
Saimin had a light broth that was a good accompaniment to our combo plate. The noodles were cooked well.
Mac salad was really bland. Wouldn't order again.
Kimchi was pretty good, not sure if it's made in-house but it was tasty.
Service was ok, they all seemed a little burnt out but were still helpful. Overall, a decent meal but nothing spectacular.
