| - I really enjoy most of the classes at Yoga Flex (now Enlighten Yoga). I love going to the gym, lifting, running and cycling, so yoga allows me to calm down a bit and really focus on my body. This studio is one big room, that they can separate into two with a curtain down the middle. (be sure to take your shoes off before entering the yoga room) They have a large heater and small space heaters for the hot yoga classes. Restrooms have showers and have always been very clean and well stocked.
When I first started taking classes here, I was afraid that they were a little too "yogi" for me. I don't know anything about my chakras, I don't really know who Shiva is and I have no idea what "shanti" means. But all of those things are all over the studio. It gives it a nice vibe, but I was a little intimidated at first.
Then I met Shari. She is awesome, super welcoming and helpful. I took her Yoga for Athlete's class and was hooked. I started going regularly with some friends, and really became comfortable in the studio. Some of the classes are designed for non-yogis and beginners. The instructors are more descriptive with how things should look and feel. They don't use all of the looooong yoga names for poses that leave you glancing around the room to see what everyone's poses look like. While I enjoy Yoga for Athlete's, Yoga for Cyclists/Runners, and gentle stretch classes the most - I've tried the others and they are good as well. Not all of the classes are designed for all abilities though, so you may have to keep an eye on your neighbor's pose to keep up.
I love going to classes here now that I'm more comfortable in the setting. But I always try to get to class early, so I can get a good spot for my mat to see the instructor as some classes can fill up quickly.
