Is providing good customer service THAT hard??
Disclaimer- I was supposed to get a break on the price because Mick/Mike, the tattoo artist who I was supposed to use, is a friend of a friend. However, a discount is no reason to shaft potential customers and provide the worst service ever!
Here's the rundown:
1) I went in with a general drawing/idea of what I wanted. He said he'd draw something up and call me in the next day or two so I could see it. In the meantime, since he was pretty booked up, we looked in his appointment book so he could schedule a time and day for me to get it done. We scheduled the appointment, and he even wrote down the price next to it so he'd remember the price he promised me.
2) After a couple of days, hadn't heard from him, but our mutual friend said that he texted her the drawing. I was a little taken aback that he'd shown her the drawing before me- you know, the customer! I wasn't super crazy about one part, so I called him and left a message.
3) No return call. Ok. I called again a couple of days later and told him that I'd seen the drawing (he provided no apology for not letting me know it was done, not returning my call, or sending it to our friend first). We talked about what I wanted changed, and he said he'd do it.
4) Another week passes, with NOTHING- no call, no info, nothing. I call and leave a message at the shop again. No response. I drive over to the shop after another couple of days- "Oh, I'm still working on it." A few more days pass. Our friend calls and asks what's the deal. He says he'll have something done the following Monday.
5) Monday- no call. I go by the shop and he says, "Oh, didn't __(friend) tell you? I won't have it done till Wed., I'm working on 2 drawings to show you. Come by on Wed. I confirm a TIME that I'm coming by" ... And side note, why does our friend have to tell me anything?? YOU are doing the tattoo!! Why can't YOU call me?
6) Wednesday- go to the shop. CLOSED. 4th of July. I'm SO pissed right now. Why the hell did he tell me to come by on Wed if they were closed???! And mind you, I'm scheduled to get the tattoo on Friday, and I STILL haven't seen the revised drawing.
7) Thursday- go to the shop. Oh, Mike/Mick is off today?? Would have been nice if he'd called me.
8) Friday- I'm scheduled to get the tattoo. I get my money, hoping that I'll like the drawing. Our friend calls. Mick/Mike is backed up and can't do the tattoo. He thought your appointment was just for a reconsultation. Um, why the HELL would I schedule a reconsultation almost 3 weeks from the day I first went in???
9) I call Mike, who was only somewhat apologetic. In the midst of my complaints, the phone goes dead. Hmm...
I don't bother calling back. I am DONE with Living Dead, and specifically Mick/Mike. Get your shit together. I really hope that he's not reflective of the people skills and overall service level of the rest of the staff.
And yeah, still no tattoo.
