  • My friend and I recently came to Citizen Public House for dinner (Tuesday evening). The restaurant was crowded (past 6pm), but the host was kind enough to offer us a table, as long as we could leave before 8pm as they had reservations. I appreciated that they accommodated us despite their busy schedule. The restaurant has a great ambiance and a bar in the center of the place. It was slightly loud but not an annoying level of noise. We went for two beers from the draft beer menu (a house brew and a locaL IPA). We shared a salad as a starter. Our main courses were really outstanding. My friend had the seared scallops, and I had the amaro meatloaf. I didn't try the scallops myself, but the meatloaf was exquisite. The look if the dish is extremely appealing, to the extent that my friend HAD to try it (picture in the review). It's a delicious veal demi-glacĂ© meatloaf that comes with roaster zucchini and smashed gold potatoes, and a tasty and rich mushroom cream. It was surprising that this was the cheapest priced item in the menu, at 20 dollars! It was my third time in Citizen Public House, and it was consistently outstanding. I've been to this place in both, high season (winter/spring), and low season (summer), and it's always busy, so I really recommend making a reservation.
