  • My wife and I couldn't be any happier with our selection of Unique Landscapes to help design and build our pool and spa. First, if you are looking to build a pool for less than $20,000, you may want to go with either a self-build or one of the giant companies and pray that everything turns out ok. But, if you are into quality, professionalism, and communication then I would highly recommend Unique. A quality pool/spa is not cheap. Everyone's got a great price for a "starter" pool. Some of the companies charge a lot less for these no frill pools, i.e. no self cleaning system, no quality pebble tech, no heater, no water feature, etc. But, when you include all the add ons, and you'll want the add ons, you'll find that most companies charge about the same price. My wife and I interviewed 3 other pool contractors. They all came within plus or minus $5,000 for the project we wanted. We initially met with salesman, Mike Trail. We liked Mike right off the bat because he wasn't "sales-y". He was transparent about everything, professional, easy to work with and to the point. The plans, products, and services he showed us were very clear and concise. He didn't try to over sell and he seemed to understand our vision. He was also available and present long after we signed the contract. Most of the pool companies use the same equipment; use the same amount rebar, etc. But, the difference with Unique is that other than their excavator and shot crete, every other contractor is in house. So, with Unique, you are not waiting for weeks for other subcontractors to be finished with their jobs for other companies. During the project, communication was top notch. You get a schedule on the Cloud, so you can always check on the progress. The workers were very efficient, clean, and timely. They usually started around 6:30 A.M. and ended around 5 P.M (even during the days it was 110 out). We were impressed with their timeliness. The job was fully completed (and on schedule) in 10 weeks. I would be very concerned if any company tells you they can do it faster than that because they are definitely taking short cuts. Mike came to the job site frequently. All was overseen by the pool superintendent, Jack Munninger who was also knowledgeable, professional and great to work with. Anytime we had questions all we had to do was call or email and Jack was there through the entire project. And for our finished product: Let's just say that everyone who sees it is completely "wowed." Like the name says, our pool and spa is truly Unique. Sure, there were a few hiccups here and there, but if you know of a perfect construction job then you must be riding unicorns to work.
