This past Monday, thought I would grab a light dinner of eggs & home fries as it was late. Asked the waiter for the kitchen to not add any extra salt to my food. A simple request. The Waiter was very pleasant and said it would be no problem. After around 10 min the manager came over and said the home fries were fairly salty, and it would take a little longer, but she was having the kitchen freshly grate and prepare the potatoes without any salt. Thought this extra touch was so wonderful. Worthy of 5 stars! But that's when this tale takes a very different turn...45 minutes went by... still no eggs and home fries. I asked both the waiter and manager why the long wait. I Was told it would be right out. What I received after waiting almost an hour were three extremely rubbery hard yolked fried eggs (ordered over medium) obviously sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time). The "freshly made" home fries had the entire crunchy browned top removed and were extremely salty. So basically the kitchen took conventional home fries and removed the top, rather than making fresh, hoping it would go unnoticed... UNBELIEVABLE!!!. At this point, I was angry and hungry, got up and decided it was time to leave. Once again I spoke to the "twenty something" manager who professed her apologies and then had the audacity to say to me "Ok we won't charge you for your meal". REALLY!!!!!'
There was no consumption...I just cut into the eggs and saw they were inedible, then tasted the home fries, which I immediately spit out. I ended up getting a yogurt at the Venetian store. Will NEVER EVER go back to this restaurant again!!! So many great places to eat in Vegas, do yourself a huge favor and go elsewhere! Grand Lux SUCKS!
