  • TERRIBLE experience!! Beware of bait and switch! I chose this place after reading reviews saying how easy and affordable this place is supposed to be but that was a TERRIBLE mistake. This place completely jipped me!! I went in for an exam to get a new prescription so I could order replacement glasses online after having recently lost my old pair. I don't have insurance; I'm on a fixed income so low I don't even know how I'll be able to afford this exam in the first place. I made it very clear to the staff that budget is my primary concern right now. The appointment with the doc was mediocre. He didn't answer my questions, didn't really explain my eye health and he did not sound confident in the prescription he wrote me. He told me after I get new glasses to see how they work then come back and have ANOTHER exam with dilation so as my eyes adjust that will probably show a different prescription. WTF? Afterwards when I am ready to pay for the exam, and again I already told them I wanted to order glasses online, she asks me if I need a copy of the prescription. YES! Of course I do, that's the only reason I came! So when I asked her to show me the pupillary distance on the RX card she tells me that it's company policy NOT to give the pupillary distance because "it's a liability" for Alex Optical. This woman literally told me to go some other optical shop for my PD because the doctor "just left" before I was given the RX info. Now I'm out $35 for a worthless exam!! The worst part was how bad they wanted to sell me their glasses on sight. The gentleman who can't manage to tie his tie was like the WORST used car sales man I've ever seen. He would not give me any space to browse myself. He just kept shoving frames on my face. I'm not exaggerating, at least 10, while I'm standing there about to cry. He just keep repeating the online sales "use the cheapest possible materials and then you will come back here mad when they break." WTF! I paid you for a service and information that I DID NOT receive. Mind you, the outdated frames that AlexOptical did have already felt like the cheapest quality materials I have ever felt, yet carried a price tag over four times what I could afford. A word to the wise, STAY AWAY FROM ALEX OPTICAL. RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, TERRIBLE EXCUSE FOR SERVICE. I usually try to patronize small businesses first but this is one place that needs to GO OUT OF BUSINESS. Thanks for nothing but ruining my week!!
