I'm not gonna be funny here - I'm just going to tell it like it is: Guitar Electronics is the only store I'm allowing to get near my guitars.
I play in a local band that generally stays busy gigging, and I don't have a houseful of guitars. I need those that I do own to be on their game at all times. Guitar Electronics makes that happen. They are particularly good for guys like me who play the old 80s-style metal guitars - they actually know how to properly set up locking tremolos. Plus their electronics work is anal-retentive to NASA standards (um, pre-space shuttle NASA, that is). Their soldering and wiring is neat and precise, not the blobby mess you get from most repair shops.
GE's labor and parts prices are also competitive. Not the least expensive, but I'll shell out a few extra bucks to help technicians of this caliber continue their business.
So why not five stars? Well, they're awesome with guitars, but there are people around who are better amplifier techs.
