You can't have high expectations. I give it 5 stars cause of the owner, hospitality and his creativity. He creates such chill ambiance for a nice dinner after work. Or even if you're coming for the food.
If you know what izakaya defines. (is a type of informal Japanese drinking establishment that serves food to accompany the drinks. They are casual places for after-work drinking.) -Wikipedia.
It comes off a really authentic feel with a bit of island music ambiance lol.
The owner Go offers the typical sushi you could be looking for. Down to the creativity he offers of japanese tapas. They also offer a pretty good happy hour, if you're looking for a cheap beer and sake. I come about once or twice a week. And he knows what I like to get and offers the the fishes of the day. Cause I LOVE sashimi. His fried baby octopus is one of my favorites also.
If you come after 10 the have skewer happy hour. Which comes with my favorite beef tongue skewers . I love the tuna belly cutlet. Beef tataki. And etc. Try new things on this specials menu if you're up for it :) happy eating !
