| - This review is so over due....in fact, it's so long over due by nearly 19 years! Well, I think I can feel a bit better about my lateness because Yelp wasn't around 19 years ago and I didn't start Yelping until late 2013! So what's this all about? This late review is solely dedicated to the Conservatory Botanical Garden at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino.
The spectacular botanical gardens encompasses 14,000 sq ft and is beneath a 55-ft tall glass ceiling. Each season, the Bellagio horticultural team and renowned event designer Ed Libby "push the envelope" by creating dazzling Season-themed gardens.
While we were in Las Vegas, the theme was a Japanese-inspired Spring Awakening tying with Bellagio's Gallery of Fine Art show of Boxing Great, Muhammad Ali. This display started on March 17, 2017 and runs through May 14, 2017. It features a 35-ft tall Kabuki figure rising from a pink lotus, 25-ft tall Torii Gate, a 26-ft tall Japanese-inspired temple, 2 4-ft tall cranes (signifying longevity) and 10 vibrantly hand painted butterflies (denoting eternity). The gardens are open 24//7 and no matter what time of the day we went there, there were always crowds of people trying to capture all of the types of flowers used and symbolism.
If you missed this particular display, rest assured that there will be another awesome Season-themed display to take its place. Go on, take a few minutes to "stop and smell the roses"!
