  • ****4.5 Stars**** I booked a room at the FireSky when the resort where my work took me (the Camelback Inn) charged about twice as much and didn't come with the same perks. I'd gladly stay here again if I ever have to go back to Scottsdale. FireSky has a lot in common with other Kimpton properties: Fun, kinda flashy lobby area (this one with soaring ceilings and a fireplace); wine hour every night and free coffee in the morning (and you don't even have to ask for Soy milk - it's readily available); free WiFi & a $10 Raid-the-Bar credit for Kimpton Karma Rewards members; animal-print robes & a yoga mat in every room; very friendly staff (at the front desk, at least); bikes that you can borrow for free. This property also has free parking (included in the daily "resort" fee), huge pools, a hot tub, at least one big fire pit, and a fantastic bartender named Andrew. The best part, though, was the treats left for me in my room by the housekeeping staff. After I got to my room, I discovered more than a half-dozen vegan, gluten-free snacks and a note from housekeeping telling me to help myself to all the complimentary snacks. They went out and bought snacks for me because there was nothing on the mini-bar that fit my dietary restrictions. Traveling is usually a challenge because of my dietary restrictions, but the staff at the FireSky made my trip worry-free. They even left cute little vegan, gluten-free candies on each bed. I've never had such a great welcome at a hotel before. They really won me over with that. All of this made up for the room itself, which, as others have mentioned, was not as nice as the rooms at other Kimpton properties. Maybe it's because my room's view wasn't great - it faced the parking lot and was on the first floor - or maybe it was the long hallways...It was nice to have the extra space of the patio...even if it did face a wall (that separated my room from the parking lot). I could have used an upgrade on my room. I have an upgrade on my account, but forgot about it until after I had checked out. I'm not sure if the staff has access to the perks each guest has on their account, but they should, and they should offer the upgrade, if it's available.
