| - Dining at The Wise was disappointing. I decided to have dinner at the restaurant because I was staying at the hotel. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a long bar, plenty tables with midcentury modern furniture, and fun lighting. However, the restaurant was empty. Now I know why.
My server was delightful, accommodating, and attentive. She checked in frequently and had a good sense of the menu. Perhaps the highlight of the evening.
Although I was dining early (6pm on a Thursday evening), four entrees were "sold out." I ordered the happy hour fish tacos, which appeared to be a breaded, fried fish with a mayo based slaw. It was fine, but unimaginative. I also ordered the seasonal salad as my main course, which was a citrus salad. While the construction of the salad made sense (mixed greens, cut strawberries and oranges, goat cheese), the citrus vinaigrette was so acidic, the salad was inedible. After a few bites, my teeth and lips hurt.
Beers on tap and wine list were limited. Again, fine but not interesting.
