  • May be the most well advertised parking/shuttle system, but very little thought has been put into their operation in Toronto. Normally, I take public transit into the airport, or get friends/family to take me, but given that my wife and I were away for just a weekend, we decided to try park and fly. I strongly discourage people from using this facility, and use one of the other services available at Pearson. A couple high-(low?)lights: 1) The economy lot is significantly smaller than the self-park lot, so even with a reservation, we were "upgraded" to the self-park lot due to congestion that weekend. I use the term "upgraded" lightly, given that the lot condition is atrocious (like, the paving itself). I've seen muddy farmers fields with less areas to get stuck (and I'm strictly a city boy). 2) Given the clip at which the shuttle driver swings around this lot, I'm surprised at how few claims there are for damage on the lot. Both my wife and I got queasy on the shuttle -- the bumpy lot was no help either. 3) Getting back, it seems the only customers that get a return shuttle in any reasonable time are the valet customers. Because of the system they have set up at Terminal 1, the self-park and economy shuttle (the same one for both lots) picks up at the domestic side of the terminal, and if full, skips the International/US side, meaning that you're left waiting. Initially we thought it was just a one-off thing. However, after 30 minutes of waiting for shuttles, we ended up walking down to the domestic area to avoid being skipped. Some people at the other line had already waited an hour before getting on a shuttle (which only happened because they knocked on a bus that was passing). The valet bus could care less about economy and self-park customers. 4) The only help service was an automated line, with no way to contact a human being. In summary, stay away if you can. There are many other parking options at the airport worth your time and money.
