| - We had an incredibly positive experience buying a couch, loveseat, and ottoman from Pruitt's on Thomas Road. My husband and I were in the market for some new living room furniture and thought we'd stick our heads in Pruitt's on our way to some other furniture stores. We were surprised by the extensive selection and inventory, the apparent quality of the furniture, and the prices. (There are at least 4 large showrooms with couches and loveseats.)
We were greeted by Sam Farrah, a salesperson, who created the perfect dynamic for us. He was resourceful and available to answer any questions we had, but gave us our space and let us look around at our own pace without trying to follow or pressure us. We found a couch, loveseat, and ottoman that we liked and were delighted to discover that we could customize the microfiber fabric and color without any additional charges.
Before returning to place the actual order, we did some researching on Yelp and were disappointed to read negative reviews about the delivery process and problems that other customers experienced after making the initial purchase. In spite of this, we decided to give Pruitt's a shot and returned to place the order through Sam.
Our purchase and delivery experience was smooth. We were told that the furniture would take approximately 5-6 weeks to come in (because it was a custom order), but we received a call within 3.5-4 weeks notifying us that our items were ready. We'd paid the $65 fee for delivery and set-up. The delivery crew arrived on the designated date and set the furniture up (i.e., removed various layers of protective covering and arranged the couch and loveseat based on our preferences) within a matter of minutes. (They provided us with a delivery date and told us that we could call early that morning for information on whether the approximate time of delivery would be in the morning or afternoon.) Although I wouldn't describe the women with whom we spoke on the phone to coordinate various aspects of the final payment and delivery as overly friendly, they were professional and to-the-point.
We'd previously browsed some of the larger discount furniture shops and warehouses and the quality at Pruitt's just doesn't compare. We also found the couches at Pruitt's to be higher quality and, in most cases, significantly less expensive than a number of pieces we'd seen in the furniture section at Macy's.
In the end, we paid approximately $1400 for a large microfiber couch, loveseat, and ottoman that we absolutely love. (The cloth was pretreated at the time of manufacture to help prevent stains and water damage. We also have the option to order replacement cushions and pillows, if we ever need to.) We'll definitely return to Pruitt's for our next big purchase and will cross our fingers for another positive experience.
