| - I had been wanting to get a trim for a some time but have been quite busy, so when I found myself with an afternoon free on Sunday I thought it would be the perfect time to find a salon who could squeeze me in. I called Parlour first due to their awesome yelp reviews, and was happy to hear they had appointments with both junior and senior stylists throughout the afternoon. Since I was only getting a trim, I thought a junior stylist would be find and booked the appointment for the next hour.
When I arrived, the salon was busy (but not overly), and the staff was all very friendly. I met my stylist, Ekat, and we sat down to talk about my hair. It was then when I realized that maybe "a little trim" was far too simplistic for what we were dealing with. I am growing out the most awkward of cuts, which was many different levels and layers, where the left side had been shaved and the right side left quite poofy. I also have very curl, but fine, hair. As I started explaining to Ekat what I wanted, which was ultimately just to even out the back and have a style that allowed me to straighten it again, I realized I was giving her a bit of a challenge.
But she was an absolute PRO. She did the majority of the cut with my hair dry, so that she could cut according to my curls. I was completely exhausted after a busy weekend hiking, and she was incredibly understanding about my uncontrollable yawns and occasional nodding off. When she washed my hair, she did such a phenomenal head massage. Finally, she dried and styled my hair using a hood dryer, so I had no frizz at all.
Today I tried straightening my new cut and it's perfect. I couldn't be happier.
