  • If I could give this place negative stars, I would. My husband and I moved into this complex at the beginning of the year. It seemed affordable and to be a decent area. WRONG. You pay a ton of money for upkeep and the grass is always brown, trash everywhere, and nobody picks up after their animals. You will hear the yard guys outside at 7-8 am with their leaf blowers at least three times a week and after they leave, it looks like they were never even there to begin with! They just blow all the dirt onto your vehicles and then leave. They do not pick up broken branches, maintain the bushes, and only mow the grass once a month. Now onto the apartment! They are very run down and dingy. If you have an issue and need maintenance to come, GOOD LUCK! We only ever had the same maintenance main come and fix our stuff, every other one seems to just ride around on their golf carts or screw around in the club house all day. The appliances are so old that they make your energy bill significantly increase. The dish washer ruined my dishes because of how hard the water is and has left my dishes with permanent water stains, and not to mention, barely even cleaned them! Most of the time I washed my dishes by hand. The microwave does not spin around so your food just sits in the center of the microwave and barely works and the shower collects massive amounts of mold around the glass door, I was cleaning it at least three times a month! Oh and let's not even mention how different living on the B side is compared to the A side!! On the B side, the hoodlum children run around with no mind for vehicle or people, liter everywhere, and even vandalize people's vehicles by egging them (this happened multiple times within a few months!), if you need access to the mail room after 9 pm, you can't access it because the apartment complex has it locked up due to the mail room being vandalized at night. Parking is always an issue and more times than not, someone is always in your spot or parked like an idiot to where you can not park in the spaces next to them. These apartments are poorly insulated and you can hear every single noise! Every morning I was woken up to my neighbor coughing up a storm at 6 am, a neighbors dog parking from midnight-4 am, and people stomping up and down the stairs shaking your walls. So onto the next issue! After we could no longer take being on the B side, we did an early upgrade to a two bedroom on the A side. Still a little outdated over there but nonetheless nicer. The lawn is upkept better over there and the crowd is a nicer crowd, I guess because it's more expensive to live over there? Anywho, my husband and I signed the papers to transfer the lease to this two bedroom and all they told us was that all we had to do was come pick up the keys on December 11th. As moving day arrives and we've cancelled all of our utilities in our old unit and set up utilities in our new unit, we go to pick up the keys and are told that we have to pay $616.15 for the new unit or else we can not move in, ON THE DAY WE ARE SCHEDULED TO MOVE IN!!! Had the office notified us that the amount would be due in order to pick up the keys, we would have allocated money to pay it; however, they didn't! They made it seem like the amount would be added to our account like rent usually is and we could pay it online from there. Well that was wrong! They wouldn't give us the keys and then changed the amount the SAME day and said we needed to pay $730 something! The staff were completely unprofessional and condescending. They made sure to make my husband and I feel stupid and talk slow and stupid to us like we didn't understand what they were saying. They then proceeded to tell us that we either needed to be moved out by our move out date or pay to extend the lease on our old unit until we figure it out. By this point all of our utilities are off in our old apartment and the new unit we were supposed to move into were all set up! So I took my business elsewhere and moved into the AMAZING complex called Avanti. It's a breath of fresh air. Those of you considering moving to Sky Pointe Landing, DO NOT DO IT!! You get what you pay for over there and trust me, it is not worth it!!! Total trash with terrible, terrible management and staff. UPDATE: No where in the transfer document was an amount listed, this has been disputed with Sky Pointe landing. Also, we had communicated issues with the office and leasing agents and nothing was done. Stay very far away from Sky Pointe if you can and if you live there already run as fast as you can, as soon as you can. Go into the office on any given day and you will hear people complaining about how nothing is maintained and all the issues other people experience. Just while handling this issue, my husband and I heard at least four other people with similar complaints. Nothing is ever done.
