  • I tend to stay away from nightclubs. Since I turned 21 a few years back I've only visited a total of three, including this one. A group of us girls decided to have a girls night out so we decided to see The Weeknd on one of his residency nights. The promoter I spoke to John, was extremely nice both over the phone and in person. I absolutely loved him! I met up with him before we headed into the club and he let me know to stand in the guestlist/wristband line. There are a total of two lines including the general admission line so make sure you're in the right one. We got in early before the mayhem started so the club looked serene and the view was stunning. The club was easy to navigate through, the bathrooms are located to the right away from the bar and dance floor. It was clean and the bathroom attendant was very friendly. There's an elevator that takes you to the club but once you reach it and you're let off, you have to walk down the stairs to the dance floor, that's the only downside because after a night of dancing, it can be a bit painful walking up. We decided to get our drinks as soon as we walked in to avoid any lines later on in the night, the bartender was quick but she was not friendly. I ended up ordering a sex on the beach ($15), it tasted watered down so I decided not to get any more drinks. Now, the club started filling up fast, before I knew it I was rubbing elbows with the guys and girls next to me, I could feel the guy next to me dripping sweat. I felt a bit claustrophobic, there were girls pushing, the crowd got a bit rowdy and impatient. At one point a fight broke out near us, bystanders just took pictures and video until security intervened. A few minutes after that, someone threw a heel in the air and it hit my friend right in the mouth, we kept on getting shoved so we danced rough to get the pesky girls off our backs. The Weeknd didn't hit the stage until about 2 a.m. as soon as he hit the stage you just felt a great big push, everyone was trying to get closer to him. I saw him lip sync a few songs, then I was over it so we made our way out of the dance floor to the bathroom. We met up with some girlfriends we had lost amongst the crowd then left. I like the fact that there were security guards getting people on and off the elevators at the end of the night, they would ride with you to maintain order. Overall, I don't think I'll be visiting another club in a little while. I'll stick to bars. We had good time in the beginning but towards the end of the night, when the heel was thrown, it soured our night, bad crowd.
