  • Re: The Flood Please be sure to see my previous review to understand what this big bunch of lies is all about. She is an audacious liar. She doesn't want to fix things or have a good relationship with her tenants, she wants to "win" and dominate. This is libel (slander) by Michele Brown to even attempt to publicly blame us for the house flooding and par for the course in the way you'll also be treated if you lease from her. She is a DANGER to your family. The cheapskate owner had hooked up a refrigerator filter that was supposed to be INSIDE the refrigerator (It was designed to be indwelling in a refrigerator, nothing else) under the sink and ran about 30 feet of plastic tubing under the sink, through the wall and into the refrigerator. The reason he did that was because the refrigerator was so old (about 12-15 years old) that it had no place for an indwelling filter so he jimmy rigged his own system the redneck way. The filter was supposed to be changed every 6 mo but was 3-4 years old when we moved in. Because it was taped under the sink, we never even knew it existed. Michele Brown told us to never use the ice machine when we did the walk through so we never used it. Yes, the house flooded, but how are we, as tenants responsible for this? We suffered greatly and because she's vindictive, she tried to punish us by delaying repairs even more than she usually did. (She did this by telling us that people were coming and they were no shows many times and when they eventually came, they said this was the first time she had called them. THIS IS HER WAY and she did this MANY TIMES. See other people saying the same thing. My dying mother came to visit us and she could not stay in the house because Michele lied about sending someone to repair the air conditioning in the 120 degree heat for a few weeks so her visit was cut very short. Thanks Michele Brown! There was never a "last straw". We were not evicted. In fact ,we stayed in the house for months after the flood because she lied and said they would send us to a hotel while they did repairs and strung us along for months lying and promising fixes that never came. Unfortunately for me, this flood came when my mother was dying of a terminal illness and these were her last days. I had a choice to make: Wait for repairs that Michele was promising and have more time with her or move and have less. What would you do? After we camped in our own house for months waiting on repairs without any compensation, we still felt sorry for the owner (Undeserved, apparently) and made every attempt to leave the house in as perfect condition as possible. We spent $1000 on a cleaning crew after having been mistreated and put through a nightmare.we still did what we felt was right. We fully expected that we would get our deposit back less about $400 because that is the highest we were quoted for sod for the whole yard. We were only responsible for 2/3 of the back yard. We were not responsible for any more of it because her workmen dug up the yard searching for the septic tank had not been cleaned in over a decade (another negligence of the owner) and the house smelled like sewage.(They never found it but we moved out) After we left... What did Michele do? She firstly did not send us anything for months. She's supposed to give it back within 30 days. When we inquired about our deposit, she claimed not to know our new address. Then she sent me a BILL for thousands of dollars. She made fake, price gauging estimates for work that was never done. She claimed we had stolen screens, had stolen a closet door many other lies. What would we do with them? We disputed these in writing and also asked for actual receipts. She said she did not have to give them to me and she has done all she legally has to do and to never contact her again. Then, that very day, she put these charges on our credit. This is what she is going to do to you too. The problem Michele has with her clients, besides being a beastly liar, is that she totally lacks empathy towards them and once you sign the lease, she does not feel like she has to do anything for you. She's resentful of you placing demands on her and has a militant attitude towards her clients, which she brags about to her friends on Facebook. 1. See where she is bragging that she is going to give someone a 30 day notice and have the last laugh. I wonder what the client was "threatening" her about. I am guessing unmade repairs, because that is Michele Brown's specialty. By the way: It's illegal to evict someone for asking for repairs. If she evicted you for complaining about repairs, sue her. 2. See her brag about how she squashed another bug, 3. See her complaining about a homeless pregnant woman on the streets begging. 4. See where she is being sued by a previous tenant. People..you need to do the right thing if she has wronged you. It is a moral imperative to protect other people, Do you get it yet?
