  • So let me begin by saying that I am not a jewellery person. I usually dread going into jewellery stores, and I absolutely hate blood sucking sales people who are usually pushy, selfish, and just want to make a sale. This company is nothing like that. Unlike other jewellery stores, they make everything on-site. Their goldsmith Kesha (not that Kesha!) is very talented and actually cares about what she makes. She even took the time to give me a very cool tour of her workshop and 3D printers). Robin, the co-owner is one of the most patient and nicest people around. Both of them take their time and ensure that you are happy with any purchase you make regardless of budget. I ordered a wedding ring for my fiance from Fair Trade Jewellery. They have a very cool service where you can propose with a "loaner" ring, for only $250 and once you propose your fiance can come back with you and choose what he/she wants. It's a really good idea especially for picky people like my fiance and I. Even if you decide not to get a ring from them after (though I am not sure why you wouldn't) you can still return the loaner and get most of your money back. After seeing and checking out numerous chain jewellery stores - including Tiffany's, Ben Moss, Michael Hill, People's, etc. - Fair Trade Jewellery has by far the best service, most ethical production and sourcing, and can really make some beautiful custom designs that are not simply stamped out of molds like other retailers. Robin and Kesha make the entire experience a great one, and we will be coming back for our wedding rings. It's nice knowing that what we are buying is supporting local businesses, and good people. That's very rare to find these days...
