| - Our latest experience with this urgent care, is worse than the long waits I have always experienced here. My 14 year old son got checked in hockey back in april. Although feeling pain when getting checked is the norm for this sport, we have never gone to see a doctor for it. This was an awkward hit and my son heard a pop to his shoulder when it happened. The doctor said that it was most likely muscle, but took an xray to be safe. Xray was normal, but I requested that he approve an order for us to get my son an mri. He would not approve it, and said that there is too much radiation in an mri for our son. (We found out later that mri's do not even have radiation). So we went on our way, and my son took advil for pain. We took the summer off from sports and my son seemed to get better. But by the time travel hockey season started in august, the first check and he was back in pain. We decided to see a specialist, not only was there a short wait, but he was able to easily get a request for an mri. The results showed that he was healing from a recent scapula fracture. He is healing, but now we are going to get a cat scan to see if it is healing properly as it his shoulder is still painful when he uses it. I do not recommend going here unless you have to, or in the event that your primary doctor is not available. But still make a follow up appointed with another doctor, get a second opinion.
