| - The Residence Inn Las Vegas South use to be my go to place to stay when I travel to Las Vegas for business, but my last four visits just have not been good. I was supposed to stay here 2 weeks this time, but I finally just checked out and went elsewhere. The first room they gave me was in the very back of the Residence Inn (away from airport) first floor, the door was very difficult to open and you had to pretty much kick it open to get it to budge. Okay, I can just deal with that. The noise in the back of the building from planes makes it almost impossible to sleep, which I just dealt with other times when I have stayed because of the convenience to where I am working. However, this time the AC didn't work, which just made it miserable to sleep. We called to get it fixed and they said you just have to hit the reset button, which worked for about a minute then it shuts back down. The person doing it says they'll just leave the cover off and we can keep hitting reset, every time it goes off (every minute), ugh, needless to say we requested to switch rooms. Another, issue I had is the cleaning the room, it has happened the past 4 times I have stayed here, they just don't clean the room, I didn't put anything up saying to not clean the room so what is the issue?? Why do I have to tell them to clean the room, its not like I am in the room, I am gone from about 7:00 am until 5 or 6pm every night, then gone again for dinner after that. That was one of the reasons I liked Residence Inn before, when I come back I can just relax. I am not asking too much, just what you would get at any other competitor hotel, please just take the trash out, fix the bed, maybe even replenish the towels... Another thing that has gone down at this location is the breakfast, it was just disgusting. I didn't think you could ruin breakfast, its so easy, bacon or sausage and eggs, well they have that, but the sausage and bacon don't taste like that, it tastes like nothing, which makes no sense. How can bacon and sausage taste like nothing? How is that possible? I looked at my husband one morning and said this is the easiest diet I have ever done, I can't get myself to eat something that just tastes like nothing, I'll just starve. I never tried the mixers at night so no comment on that. The only thing that was good was the person working the front desk in the mornings-afternoons, he was helpful, remembered my name, and able to switch us rooms when we asked. However, that doesn't make up for the other things, for future trips I will go elsewhere.
